Skills
The skills in RuneScape are very fun there are 24 completely different skills.
THey include: Attack, Strength, Defense, Range, Prayer, Mage, Rune Crafting, Construction, Hit Points, Woodcutting, Mining, Smithing, Herblore, Agility, Crafting, Cooking, Farming, Firemaking, Fishing, Fletching, Hunter, Slayer, Summoning, Theving and now Dungeoneering .
Some skills are harder to get leveled up than others, for instance Construction is harder to get up than Woodcutting. All skills are pretty fun and some skills allow you to get your combat level up. The lowest, starter, is level 3 and the highest is level 138 due to the Summoning skill, allowing you to get 12 levels higher that usual.

Item Levels
Some items require a higher level, if you wanted to wear Rune Platelegs and you only have level 30 defense you cannot wear them. This is a guide that will show you what you should have at your level:
Beginner Level 3-20:
At this level you should probably have bronze or iron armor, an iron weapon like a scimitar or 2H sword. Around 15 and up you should have every thing steel and maybe even a mithril weapon.
Intermediate Level 20-60:
By now you should have around some money and an adamant weapon with mithril armor at the highest. At level 30 you for sure have that and maybe a mithril weapon still now at level 40 you should have a rune scimitar and some mithril-adamant armor. At level 50 and up to 60 you should have full Rune, a rune weapon and you may have a low strength level but if you have 60 attack and have 38 mage or higher you should try to do “The Lost City” Quest if you are a member, it will allow you to use a Dragon Longsword and a Dragon Dagger or (DDS).
High Level 60-96:
At level 70 you need to have a Dragon Longsword and DDS and for sure full rune and maybe more. If you a free world player you guide stops here you just need full Rune and some Rune weapons. At level 80 and up you should probably have a Abyssal Whip and done the “Hero’s” Quest that enables you to have a Dragon Battle Axe and a Dragon Mace. At level 90 and up you need to have a Abyssal Whip Rune armor or Barrows armor, any thing that is good probably even Dragon Platelegs and a rune defender. Try full Dharok's or Verac's, there cool because I just got 70 defense.
I am stopping the guide at level 96 because that is my current level!
